Read What Other Parents Have to Say

“Naomi is very obviously an expert on the content of parenting. Not only is she a master teacher, but she taught me how to be a better teacher of my children. Her very positive approach takes into account my children's developmental level as well as their individual personalities. It helped me to learn how to teach skills in advance, rather than just reacting. Her content has made me a more purposeful, thoughtful, and present parent.”

Chelsea, Mother of 4

“Naomi changed our lives with the parenting skills she taught us. I was feeling so overwhelmed, stuck in power struggles and not understanding how to direct my kids in a way that would encourage and uplift them rather than tear them down. Learning to "Observe and Describe," to praise in appropriate ways, and plan for and teach useful skills to my kids helped me feel more calm and able to problem solve in a warm and loving way.”

Melanie, mother of 4

“From the moment I met Naomi, I knew she was going to be the guidance I needed to improve my parenting style. Not just for my children but also for myself. She has never made me feel shamed or guilty for being overwhelmed at times with my children, but she did show me a better approach that has created such a positive impact on our lives! She has taught me to be more patient, understanding and observant towards my children and their behaviors. Whether it was teaching to a wrong or praising for a right; she showed me an effective way to be a leader and an advocate for my children. Because of Naomi and her skills of parenting, my children reflect what I've taught them towards others in their lives. It's something I hope they pass on for generations!”

Karma, mother of 3

“I have learned literally everything I know about parenting from Naomi. I've spent hours roleplaying with her to develop the skills I sought to parent my kids firmly but gently. I want my kids to like me, seek me out, and actually value what I have to say... and well, I'm a work in progress but I definitely could not have achieved that without her help. ”

Cody, father of 2

FAQ

  • Do I need to do anything before our call?

Please watch the main video above, write any questions down that you may have, and prepare for a virtual video call in a quiet, uninterrupted space. Watching the video is essential to ensure our discussion is as productive and effective as possible. The video will likely answer many of your questions or prompt several more!

  • What is the cost of the 1-on-1 coaching program?

Because the 1-on-1 program, Individualized Parenting Plan and Implementation (or Compassionate Parenting Pathway), is tailored to your specific situation, goals, and circumstance, the cost varies. We will discuss this during the discovery call after we have more time to talk about your specific situation.

  • Is there any child who just can't learn or improve their behaviors?

Absolutely not. If you are not the rare case that your child is a vegetable or has severe brain damage (heaven forbid), your child CAN learn and develop skills and behaviors. Whatever the chemical imbalance, whatever the extra difficulty due to trauma (reduced brain size), and however less effective neural networks may be at sending messages (like in ADHD), the brain ultimately works the same way for all humans. That means your child may have some additional struggles, but creating skills and habits still occurs through creating new neuropathways, and then myelinating those neuropathways through reinforcing and practicing the behavior over and over again. I don't mean to diminish or undermine your child's particular struggles-- and actually, accepting those and working with those in an individualized way is CRUCIAL-- but there IS hope.

  • Nothing is wrong with me, it's all my child. Will you fix them?

The truth is, this program is focused on YOU as a parent. Yes, your child will improve-- but about 80% of the program is focused on YOUR behaviors and skills. When we as parents act and behave in ways that model appropriate behaviors, teach, connect, and reinforce, our children will naturally behave better. My goal is not to fix your kid, but to help you learn how to partner with your child and walk a parallel journey of growth and change yourself, so YOU can meet your goals, heal your relationships, and change behaviors in your home. My goal is to help you be your child's primary teacher and help you do it in a way where they allow you to teach and influence, and even seek you out.

  • What do you teach? What will I learn?

Amongst a variety of other things, you will primarily learn how to teach instead of punish, how to focus on connection in teaching and parenting, and all the other little nuances that come with those. Below is a list of topics you will learn:

  • Will I work with Naomi specifically?

Although Naomi is the founder and owner of Skill Culture Co., there is a team of four coaches/educators and you will work with one of them. Naomi personally trained each one of them and between the four of them, they have 16 certifications in the Teaching Family Model, 4 bachelors degrees, 2 masters degrees, and a clinical license. Naomi has known each of them between 5-10 years and has worked extensively with each of them in training, observations, consultations, and feedback sessions.

"The reason I chose to hire each of my coaches is because I have 100% confidence in their knowledge, ability, and skill set. I could not possibly be more confident in their abilities to help parents achieve the same exact results I could help them achieve. What we know works-- it's science backed and evidence-based. Each of my coaches has been handpicked from my 12 years in the field and I have worked with each of them extensively. My company, brand, and clients are of utmost importance to me. I would not invite someone to my team whom I wasn't 100% confident in. My coaches are educated, skilled, fun and charismatic, and absolute masters at what they do. They have each literally spent years and 1000s of hours helping families achieve results. I am honored to have the best on my team." -- Naomi Halterman

  • What payment options do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, debit, check, and bank transfer. In addition, we are currently working on setting up Paypal but can take payment through Shopify, Venmo, or through a card reader.

As a bonus, it's important to know that we do offer payment or installment plans over the course of 3-4 months, but also offer a 5% discount if you pay in full.

We have had clients pay and then submit HSA reimbursements. We aren't currently taking insurance but we are in the process of ferociously working on it!

  • What if I am dissatisfied or you can't help me? Do you do refunds? Is there a guarantee?

I have not had one single client in all my years working with 100s of families WHO PUT IN THE WORK who was dissatisfied.

Because what we teach is evidence-based, there is literally 60 years of research and honestly over 800 replications of studies and experiments that prove what we teach DOES work. The requirement is that you follow the program, do the homework, role play your heart out, receive and apply our feedback. If you do these things, you WILL meet your goals.

However, just for funsies and so you are fully informed, the refund policy is:

Participants may terminate the Program at their sole discretion within 20 days of signing and receive a full refund of Program payments. If participants choose to terminate the Program after 20 days, Participants are responsible for all payments as outlined in the Payment Agreement. If participants choose to terminate the Program after 20 days, they may resume services within 12 months of the termination date if they so choose. However, they accept the obligation to re-do the Family Assessment and Individualized Parenting Plan and accept all other potential variations of services determined by the Parenting Coach.

Our guarantee is that if you are doing the work and fully participating in the program, and we don't help you meet all your goals as outlined in the Individualized Parenting Plan within 10-14 weeks, we will work with you free of charge until you do.

  • When does coaching start?

Coaching can start anywhere between days to 1 month after our initial discovery call. Very rarely does it start longer than that, but occasionally we do have a waitlist. We will plan together based on coach availability and both your and our scheduling, when we will start. (We keep our case loads small so we can give the utmost attention to our clients.) Sometimes payment has a factor in start time as payment in full or the first payment installation is due either before or on the first day of coaching. Either way, we will figure it out and decide together.
